Great food as usual, plentiful, good service, why is alcohol necessary to enjoy a tasty meal? They have luscious mango lassi and now some mocktails, as well as the usual soft drinks, and free water of course. And the prices are great value, especially their Wednesday/Sunday banquet deal - booking a good idea as this is very popular!
We have been eating at Saffron since it first opened and have never had a bad meal. This was our first visit to the new restaurant, and although the food and service was as good as always the restaurant was really cold, and some customers were eating with their coats on. Also feel that not being able to enjoy a wine or beer with our curry made it a different experience and I suspect many customers will feel the same.
Nice enough restaurant but no atmosphere mainly due to the bright lights in the one tiny room. The food was nice though but the service was poor as they forgot our cutlery twice and our server didn't smile at all and my wife's order came out as the wrong meal totally. Takeaways should be ok. Not my favourite curry restaurant but definitely not the worst.
Ended up really disappointed tonight. We'd booked a table 3 days in advance for our family group for 7:30pm (they'd even called to confirm we were still going at 5:30pm). Showed up at 7:25 and was told to return in half an hour. We came back at 8pm (really hungry at this point), to be told we couldnt eat here as they didnt have the space. We've heard great things about the food at Saffron and were really looking forward to it, but unfortunately the managing of the place is poor. Such a shame.
A full house on a Friday night and the food was 5 star quality, service was very good even though the place was full. The fact that no alcohol is consumed on the premises didn't spoil our enjoyment or the atmosphere amongst other dinners.
